Free Japanese resume templates
Blank forms in the standard Japanese layouts. Free, no account, no email address. Excel if you are typing, Word if you want to rewrite the headings, PDF if you are printing it to fill in by hand. If you would rather not deal with the formatting at all, the builder fills the same forms for you and gives you a finished PDF.
Which one to pick
If nobody has told you which form to use, take the JIS standard one. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare sample is the more modern alternative: it has no seal box, treats gender as free text and leaves out the dependants and commuting fields.
The general-purpose form. Use this one if nobody has told you which to use.
The 2021 government sample. No seal box, gender is free text, no commuting time or dependants.
Larger boxes for motivation and self-promotion, smaller work history section.
Adds the days and hours you can work. Shorter than the standard form.
Jobs in date order. The default choice when your career runs in a straight line.
Grouped by what you can do rather than by employer. Better if you have changed jobs often.
The sheet that goes on top when you post your documents.
For telling your current employer you are leaving, once the decision is settled.
The softer form, used when you are asking to be released rather than giving notice.
Printing
Print on A4 plain white paper. If you do not have a printer, the PDF can be printed at any Japanese convenience store for 20–30 yen a sheet: save it to your phone, then use the Seven-Eleven app (かんたん netprint) or the Lawson and FamilyMart app (ネットワークプリント).
Licence
Use them for your own job applications freely. Please do not resell or redistribute the files themselves.
